Alima Racine
CO-FOUNDING ATTORNEY
Attorney Racine is a lawyer, member of the Barreau du Québec, and co-founder of the Racine Rubio law firm. While she practices broadly in immigration law, her true professional commitment lies in refugee protection. She represents clients before the Federal Court of Canada and the various divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board (RPD, RAD, ID, and IAD). She is involved in complex cases, including those involving serious allegations of persecution, torture, or inhuman treatment; humanitarian applications for highly vulnerable individuals; challenges to removal orders; and inadmissibility cases involving serious allegations such as international crimes — including crimes against humanity, war crimes, acts of terrorism, or the overthrow of a democratically elected government.
Before co-founding Racine Rubio, Me Racine ran her own firm, Racine Law firm, which she founded in 2017 and led until 2022.
She holds both an LL.B. and an LL.M. in international law from Université Laval, as well as a bachelor's degree in political science from York University (Toronto), which included a study exchange in Mexico. She has gained significant international experience with the UNHCR (in Egypt and Costa Rica), with Lawyers Without Borders Canada (in Guatemala), and with human rights organizations in Colombia.
Trilingual in French, English, and Spanish, Me Racine is deeply committed to defending vulnerable individuals. She regularly accepts legal aid mandates and served as a pro bono lawyer for Médecins du Monde from 2018 to 2022 in immigration law clinics.
